Scope & target areas
Protective linings on suitable concrete or approved metal substrates
Continuous floor-to-wall, corner and penetration details
Repairs or interfaces with other coatings only after compatibility testing
Assessment to handover
Assess → Agree scope → Test → Execute → Inspect → Maintain
- Assess strength, moisture, contamination, cracks and exposure.
- Remove weak layers and create the required surface profile.
- Agree primer, reinforcement, penetrations, drains and edge details.
- Check product-specific equipment ratio, temperature and pressure in the specialist application plan.
- Control overspray and apply to agreed thickness and continuity.
- Inspect edges and defects; complete agreed adhesion or lining-integrity tests.
Inspection & reporting
- Preparation, primer, equipment and environment records
- Thickness, continuity, edges and penetrations
- Agreed pinhole/integrity and adhesion tests suited to the system
- Repairs and release for traffic, water or chemical exposure
Scope & application conditions
- Fast surface set differs from full cure and return to service.
- Chemical resistance depends on chemical, concentration, temperature and duration.
- Do not cover weak, contaminated or persistently wet substrates without a suitable design.
- Confirm overspray, ventilation, exposure controls and specialist application arrangements.
Choose floors by operating conditions
| System | Purpose to assess | Conditions to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Epoxy | Industrial coating, lining and zoning | Moisture, strength, loads, chemicals, slip and ESD needs |
| Polyurethane | Distinguish floor, waterproofing and PU-cement systems | Movement, water, temperature, loads and outdoor exposure |
| Polyurea | Continuous lining and junction protection | Substrate, primer, equipment, overspray, thickness and exposure |
A material name alone does not define thickness, life or chemical resistance. Specify the selected system for the site.
